Salk-IPV

Inactivated Polio Vaccine (Salk-IPV), developed by Jonas Salk and became available in 1955, contains an inactivated suspension of the 3 types polioviruses for subcutaneous injection. 2 doses of IPV are known to induce sufficient humoral immunity. However, very often a 3 or 4 doses scheme is applied.
